that to which I say goodbye

Here are some of things I must part with in order to do the Atkins Diet correctly:

First, we've got jjajang-myeon inspired by Hahna's recent post:

Next, we've got this bastardized Thai-esque chicken and shrimp concoction that would make any self-respecting Thai mad as hell:

Finally, there's the charoset I made:

I wipe away a tear.

  1. Looks delicious! I would postpone a diet for that. In fact, I currently wouldn't be allowed to eat 2 of those dishes, since I just got braces put on my teeth 2 years ago. So I won't be able to eat peanuts for 18 months.

I procrastinated like crazy on the braces; I was supposed to get them put on 2 years ago, but didn't want to give up popcorn and nuts. Kind of committed now, though.

  2. Doh, I meant "just got braces put on 2 weeks ago".

  3. One of my fave Atkin's dishes was stolen from a friend, since I know nothing of Atkin's.

Take one full head of cauliflower and boil it up until you can mash it with a fork. To that add 8 oz. softened cream cheese, and mash it all together.

It's a sub for mashed potatoes, and I think it's to die for. I could eat it every week.

  4. Brat,

I've seen a few recipes on the Atkins website that do indeed use cauliflower as a substitute for potatoes. Will have to try that.
