Getting back in touch with the American rhythm of life entails losing touch, to some extent, with the Korean rhythm. We just celebrated Mother's Day here in the States, and it was Pentecost for most of us Christians ("the church's birthday," as our new pastor called it), but I forgot that May 12-- today-- is the day that Koreans celebrate the Buddha's birthday. "Merry Buddhamas," as the Marmot, a Buddhist, says.
To all Buddhists, then: Seong-bul hashipshiyo! May you attain buddhahood!
Today, I'm playing catch-up on several personal projects that have needed doing for a while. More later.
