homeward bound

Got to Houston fine. I'm on the plane headed for National Airport: Continental Flight 458. Will be arriving 5PM, DC time.

Lots of empty seats on this flight. Maybe everyone's avoiding our Congress.

Side note: ululate for Paul Newman, who lost a battle with cancer yesterday.

Ditto on Paul Newman, my all-time favourite American actor. Thanks for mentioning him. He was 83 and lived an incredibly full and amazing life...but it's still kind of a bummer. With his passing goes another of the pioneering group of New York Actor's Studio icons of the 1950s that also included James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Steve McQueen. They don't make them like that anymore...and Newman was in a class all by himself.
