Smart lad to slip betimes away,
To Fields where glory cannot stray,
For early though the laurel grows,
It withers quicker than the rose.

He picked a pretty good time to leave.

While I wasn't always a fan of his stortytelling ability (he always wrestled with developing interesting female characters), I'll miss the urgent tone and relevant content of Crichton's tech-related sermons, so thinly disguised as dialogue in those stories.

Good to see you on the blog, Casca! I'm much better behaved here than at my once and future cyber-home.

Annie's in mourning, I assume.
